Wright State University will host a conference designed to identify mental health risk factors for transgender and gender diverse populations as well as strengthen services and resources.
The Greater Dayton Transgender Mental Health Summit: Developing Skills and Confidence for Gender Diverse Populations will be held Friday, March 3, at the Wright State School of Professional Psychology’s Ellis Human Development Institute, 9 North Edwin C. Moses Boulevard in Dayton. The conference is sold out.
The summit will feature a keynote address by Scott Leibowitz, a child and adolescent psychiatrist and medical director of behavioral health at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
The conference will also include breakout sessions on issues such as resilience and strength, housing insecurity and homelessness, advocacy and activism, and aging concerns.
The summit is sponsored by the School of Professional Psychology and the Equitas Health Institute for LGBTQ Equity. The coordinator is Michelle Vaughan, associate professor in the School of Professional Psychology.
