The 2018 Horizon League Champion Wright State men’s basketball team, No. 14 seed in the NCAA tournament, will play No. 3 seeded Tennessee in the first round of the tournament in Dallas today, March 15. Game time is 12:40 p.m. Eastern. The game will be televised on TruTV.
The Raiders, making their third Division I NCAA tournament, were a No. 2 seed in the Horizon League tournament and defeated Green Bay, Milwaukee and Cleveland State in the championship game to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Wright State, which set a Division 1 school record with 25 wins, also appeared in the 1993 tournament (No. 16 seed) when they met Indiana and 2007 tournament (No. 14 seed) against Pittsburgh. This is the first meeting in school history with the Volunteers.
Raider fans can join watch parties on and off the Dayton Campus Thursday. The Student Union Apollo Room will host a Wright State game watch party on campus starting at noon.
All the NCAA Tournament games Thursday can also be watched at The Hangar on campus.
The Alumni Association is also hosting a Wright State watch party at Milano’s in Beavercreek.
Wright State employees and students are encouraged to dress down and Raider Up Thursday and Friday by wearing green and gold in support of the men’s and women’s basketball teams in their respective postseason tournaments.
The Wright State women’s basketball team received its fourth straight bid to the Women’s National Invitation Tournament and will play at Toledo Friday, March 16, starting at 7 p.m.
