The Walter Tigers professional basketball team in Tubingen, Germany, faced significant problems last season guarding DaShaun Wood, the former Wright State star who played for a rival team in the German league Bundesliga.
Vaughn Duggins offered to help.
“I told my agent to give them a message,” Duggins said with a laugh. “I said, ‘Tell them those numbers DaShaun dropped on them, don’t worry, I’ll guard him.’ ”
The good-natured ribbing between the former Wright State teammates will continue next season. Duggins, who finished his WSU career in March as the program’s all-time leader in games and minutes and ranked third on its career scoring list, has agreed to join the Walter Tigers with a one-year contract beginning in August.
