Local media visit Wright State library, interview professor about Pearl Harbor

Wright State history professor Edward Haas is interviewed Dec. 7 by WHIO-TV at the university’s Paul Laurence Dunbar Library for a story about the 70th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The Wright State University Friends of the Libraries display Infamy—December 7, 1941, attracted local news attention Wednesday, December 7, as journalists across the Miami Valley sought to localize the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The exhibit will be on display through December 14th.

“We are honored to bring this 70th anniversary exhibit to Dayton and to commemorate the amazing experiences and deeds of the veterans and citizens who helped pull this country through WWII,” said Ellen Reinsch Friese, president of the Friends of the Libraries’ Board.

The exhibit was created by The National WWII Museum in New Orleans.

The exhibit is located in the second floor atrium of Wright State’s Paul Laurence Dunbar Library. Associated exhibits featuring memories and artifacts from Miami Valley veterans, including eyewitness Frank Ruby of Dayton and the Libraries’ Special Collections & Archives will be displayed on the first floor.

The exhibit is during the Library’s regular hours: Sunday 1–9 p.m.; Monday–Thursday 8 a.m.–8 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Parking is free and available near the building. Weekday visitors arriving during the daytime are asked to obtain a visitor parking pass from the parking booth located outside of the Student Union.
