Some people were born to stand out. One of them is Wright State’s Rachel E. Sturm who is known for her knowledge, research and service toward students and the community.
Sturm, an assistant professor in the Department of Management and International Business in the Raj Soin College of Business, exemplifies passion for research and learning.
She made the Australian Business Deans Council list as a graduate student. Also as a graduate student, she assisted in forming a leadership symposium attended by individuals across the country.
Her level of scholarship exceeds her department’s expectations and has earned her the highest possible annual review performance rating during the two years she has been on the Raj Soin College of Business faculty. She has also earned a 4.7 out of a 5.0 rating on student evaluations.
Not only does she volunteer locally to combat human trafficking, but she also helps Wright State students succeed.
One student called Sturm the “greatest professor I have ever had at Wright State. She is kind, professional and intelligent, and makes sure to help students who are struggling.”
Sturm’s research has been featured in the Journal of Management, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, the Leadership Quarterly and others. She was recognized for having one of the best papers on women’s leadership in 2014.
Her research has been cited by other researchers 255 times, bringing academic recognition to Wright State and the Department of Management and International Business.
She is a member of several societies and associations and has received two grants from Wright State, enabling her to study abroad in China and teach international management.
