FAIRBORN, Ohio — The state budget announced Tuesday will have a big effect on local state universities and it comes at a time when money is already tight.At Wright State University, cuts will amount to $30 million over the next two years and students are concerned.Megan Uhrig, a graduate student at WSU, has been following what’s happening at the statehouse. “It’s shocking when you consider how much they’re cutting out of Wright State’s budget,” she said.“It is by far the largest budget reduction we have ever seen from the state,” said Matthew Filipic, university vice president. But, he said, it is a smaller cut than what it might have been. The university expected deeper cuts and planned ahead.
