You’ve gotta admit, the Horizon League has a pretty cool way for determining its men’s basketball champion.
The league’s top seed earns rights to host the tournament — from round two through the semifinals — but a few upsets can send the championship game to the site of almost any team in the league.
And this past weekend the unexpected happened.
Wright State University made it to the finals, and the top-seeded team lost, meaning we’ll see a Horizon League championship game at the Nutter Center for the first time since 2007.
