The sounds of rocks and twigs crunching beneath your boots, birds chirping and critters scurrying away are among the things that students experience on a hike through the Wright State Woods with Campus Recreation.
Every Wednesday from 6-7 p.m., Outdoor Recreation hosts hikes from one to three miles long. The hikes are open to the entire campus community but are limited to 10 participants.
“It’s a really beautiful way to explore campus,” said Erin Sherrets, program manager for Outdoor Recreation. “We have a hidden gem here at Wright State just on the outskirts of campus.”
“It’s really relaxing,” said Ellie Ferraro, a sophomore dance major. “It’s also for students to use when maybe they need a break from homework.”
Campus Recreation hopes its fall programs will provide opportunities for students, faculty and staff to get outside, connect with others and move their bodies.
Registration for Outdoor Recreation activities, intramural sports and fitness classes can be made on imleagues.com or the app.
