After a two-year hiatus from in-person performances, Wright State University’s annual ArtsGala is back!
The Dayton region’s most festive and unique arts event returned to the Creative Arts Center on April 9 with an impressive program that featured student performances in theatre, dance, motion pictures, music and visual arts. ArtsGala celebrated its 23rd year with many special events designed to commemorate the occasion, including more than 450 student performers in 13 unique performances.
This year’s event raised about $200,000 for Wright State arts students. All proceeds go toward scholarships for Wright State’s outstanding fine and performing arts students. The event has raised over $3 million for arts scholarships over the past two decades.
“Finally we’re back after three years of waiting to unleash this volcano of talent and energy,” said Joe Deer, artistic director of the Department of Theatre, Dance and Motion Pictures.
ArtsGala is regarded as one of the area’s premier arts events, drawing several hundred patrons each year.
