Wright State celebrates homecoming with week-long block party

Wright State University’s 2026 Homecoming Week transported alumni, students, faculty and staff back to the sights and sounds of the 1980s and ’90s with its “Block Party” theme.

The Dayton Campus hosted a full slate of events, including the annual Chili Cookoff, men’s and women’s basketball games, Salsa Night, the Alumni Achievement Awards, Paint and Sip and a Homecoming Dance.

Homecoming Week was organized by the Wright State Alumni Association, Wright State University and Wright State student organizations.

“I’m really impressed that they change it up every year and keep it interesting,” said Michael DiFlora, a 1972 graduate who attended the Chili Cookoff and both basketball games at the Wright State Nutter Center on Feb. 7.

Homecoming brings together campus organizations in a collaborative celebration that creates lasting memories for both students and alumni.

“My favorite part of Homecoming is about providing an opportunity for students to connect,” said Courtney Laukitis, assistant director of campus programs in the Student Involvement and Leadership Center.
