Becca Webb, the director of enrollment management and community engagement in Wright State University’s College of Liberal Arts, received the 2023 President’s Award for Excellence in Human Relations.

“Becca demonstrates excellence in everything she does,” said Gary Schmidt, Ph.D., dean of the College of Liberal Arts. “Becca is an outstanding example of all aspects of excellence in human relations.”

Student enrollment in the College of Liberal Arts is trending upward thanks to Webb’s efforts. She thinks outside the box when planning events and strategizing new ways to attract students to Wright State. In her presentations to prospective students, she demonstrates her passion for the College of Liberal Arts and Wright State.

She proactively communicates with students, gives personal tours, participates in recruiting events and has developed strong relationships with faculty. The support and encouragement that Webb provides to faculty to assist with student recruitment has made a significant difference.

Students and faculty praise Webb for her warm personality and the support she provides.

She finds resources to help students to stay at the university, including by working with the offices of Advancement and Financial Aid to ensure that students are aware of scholarships. She regularly helps students who have questions and will help students who are lost find where they need to go. She also knows how to network with people across the university, which helps her to know who to turn to when someone needs help.

She is hard-working, taking on extra duties to complete essential tasks in a timely manner. For example, she personally mentored the new ArtsGala coordinator and helped organize the event in 2023.

“It would have been impossible to have the gala without her,” Schmidt said.

Webb’s work is outstanding both for its quantity and quality. She accomplishes an impressive number of tasks in a short period of time while doing them well.

“The complexity of her responsibilities makes this all the more impressive,” Schmidt said. “Finally, it should be noted that she does everything with a smile.”
