Wright State University President Sue Edwards, Ph.D., has been named to the Dayton Business Journal’s Power 100, which recognizes 100 individuals across a variety of industries who have helped shape the Dayton region’s growth over the last 25 years.
During her six years as president, Edwards has helped advance Wright State’s mission as a regional leader in higher education, working alongside faculty, staff, students and community partners to expand the university’s impact. Together, they are preparing the next generation of leaders while contributing to the region’s economic vitality through programs and partnerships that address workforce needs in high-demand fields.
Edwards has prioritized recruitment, retention and relationships to strengthen the student experience and support student success. Through these efforts, Wright State has created new opportunities for students, deepened connections with the communities it serves and continued to build momentum as an institution that helps shape the future of the Dayton region.
Edwards joined Wright State in 2018 as executive vice president for academic affairs and provost and took office as its eighth president on Jan. 1, 2020.
The DBJ’s Power 100 honorees will be recognized at a private event later this fall.
