Rowdy Raider got involved in the excitement on March 11 during the First Four Festival in Dayton's historic Oregon District.
The streets of Dayton’s historic Oregon District were swollen with basketball fans, families and other revelers on March 11 as part of the First Four Festival. And Wright State was well represented.
Rowdy, the Raider mascot, strolled the neighborhood. Former Wright State basketball players took part in a Hot Shots shooting contest. And Wright State colors—caps, T-shirts, sweatshirts—were everywhere.
It was a good place to do a little people-watching because there were 15,000 of them.
Many were clustered around a jumbo-screen TV that broadcast college tournament basketball games and the CBS Selection Sunday show.
“The festival attracted thousands of participants and many of them were from the Wright State family,” said Wright State President David R. Hopkins. “It was great to see Wright State recognized for our role in the region.”
