Kathy Keister, Ph.D., RN, CNE, works well with others.
Few Wright State faculty members have served on as many, or as diverse a group, of committees as the associate professor in Wright State’s College of Nursing and Health.
“Dr. Keister’s exemplary commitment to service to the CONH, Wright State University, and to the profession of nursing is truly worthy of being acknowledged with this award,” wrote the department’s Health Promotion and Tenure Committee—of which Keister is, of course, a member.
Keister came to Wright State in 2006. She has served as interim director, then director, of the BEACON accelerated B.S.N program since 2008.
Her collaborative efforts span the university’s educational spectrum, helping her become one of Wright State’s experts on academic policy.
She is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, the Strategic Enrollment Committee and the Dean’s Advisory Council. Keister has also served on seven traditional and two ad hoc committees, including those for academic curriculum, policies, and honors. When Wright State prepared to convert from a quarter-based to semester-based academic calendar, Keister chaired the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee.
Her service has benefitted the community as well. Keister has been chair, co-chair, and campaign coordinator of Wright State’s United Way campaign.
Keister’s service to nursing includes key roles with the Ohio Board of Nursing Advisory Group on Nursing Education, the Ohio League of Nursing, National League of Nursing, and Greater Dayton Area Nursing Research Consortium.
